Legendary gospel singer Cece Winans has a new Christmas album, Something’s Happening! A Christmas Album. On her first new Christmas album since 1998, Winans once again presents a beautiful collection of songs, five of which were written by her son, Alvin Love III. There are many highlights on the album, including “It’s Christmas,” an upbeat Motown flavored tune, as well as standards like “O Come, O Come Emmanuel,” “Silent Night,” “I Heard Bells on Christmas Day,” “Feliz Navidad,” and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.”
Winans beautifully delivers this collection of songs. The album is produced incredibly well thanks to Winans’s son and was recorded at Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb, Croatia with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. While there always many Christmas albums released this time of year, Something’s Happening! It’s Christmas, a holiday gem.
Winans is hosting the Gospel Roots of Rock and Soul radio documentary that will debut on many NPR stations around the country in Febraury 2019.
